I grew up on the Black Isle, a small peninsula in the Scottish Highlands, and I’m a professional baker and writer. In 2012, I founded Black Isle Bakery, and for nearly a decade, I had the pleasure of baking sweet and savoury specialties for a terrific community of customers. I closed the bakery in 2021 and am now focusing on new creative projects.
My work has been featured by Apartamento, the BBC, Monocle, Wallpaper*, ZEITmagazin, and many others. I’m currently working on my first book: a collection of baking recipes and their connection to the Black Isle. While I work on my book, I’m also publishing here recipes for the more informal, simple dishes I cook at home.
Additionally, I’m a consultant for gastronomy businesses that need help refining and reframing their bakery offerings. I create new recipes or adapt existing ones, ensuring consistency in quality and experience for the customer. Please get in touch if you have a project you’d like help with.
